Stay Organized While Traveling

When you’re traveling it’s hard to always stay organized, especially in your hotel room and even more so if it’s a small room. Sky Limo air Charter, your private aviation company, wants to share with you a great traveling tip. A great advice to help you find things easily and say organized is to bring with you an over-the-door shoe organizer. As soon as you start settling in, that’s the first thing you should unpack. Place it over the bathroom and many of the things you unpack later will ft right in. Think toiletries like q-tips, cotton swabs, makeup remover, aspiring, bobby pins, hair brush, gel anything almost can right into the little individualized plastic compartments. It keeps everything dry and easy to find, literally at your fingertips. The concierge staff at Sky Limo Air Charter hopes this traveling tip makes a difference on your next trip.

Point That Laser Elsewhere, Please

Have you ever played with those tiny little lasers that are so much fun to point against a wall? Well according to CNN.com a spike in the incidence of people pointing lasers into the cockpits of planes has the Federal Aviation Administration worried and encouraging public vigilance. This might sound like a silly problem but nevertheless it's a problem and a serious one at that according to FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt. These tiny lasers are dangerous because they can distract a pilot or even temporarily blind the pilot when he/she is attempting to land or take off. There are 2,200 instances that have been reported due to these lasers according to CNN.com. Pointing a laser in an airplane cockpit is a federal crime. A Rhode Island man was arrested on two counts of shining the tiny laser into a Continental Airlines flight. He faces 20 years in jail and a $250,000 fine. If you want the best in air travel without laser pointing incidents then you should book a private aircraft. With Sky Limo Air Charter you'll get a restful flight full of perks like legroom, a spacious stylish cabin, gourmet food on board and more. With Sky Limo's jet concierge services you'll have a great flight and you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Sky Limo on National Business Aviation Association for Toys for Tots Campaign

NBAA reported this week that Sky Limo collected over $5,000 in Toys for Tots donations for needy children in South Florida and “flew” the toys on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 in a Sabre 60 business jet. High-speed cruise for both flights was estimated at two to three knots.

“We ‘flew’ the airplane in two big holiday water parades here in South Florida,” said Damian Lopez, Sky Limo Director of Business Development. “Our Sabre 60 jet was mounted on a barge on the Intracoastal Waterway for participation in both the Seminole Hardrock Winterfest Boat Parade and the Pompano Boat Parade.” The company arrayed thousands of unwrapped toys beneath the airplane during the parades, much to the delight of more than one million children and adults watching live and on TV broadcasts.

Sky Limo, an air charter company based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, has contributed to numerous local charities in south Florida since its founding in 1998, and this year’s Toys for Tots effort will help cheer more than 100,000 underprivileged children in south Florida. The mission of Toys for Tots is to provide hope for less fortunate children and encourage them to become responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.

Construction of the Sky Limo Float

“We’re always looking to further immerse ourselves in the community,’” said Sky Limo owner Tom Conlan, “and this was a unique opportunity to do just that.”

Passenger Trouble

Flying through regular airlines is always full of surprises. According to findings from CNN.com, a man prompted a Continental Airlines flight to make an unscheduled stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Seems like flight number 1576 was on its way to Houston, Texas from San Jose, California when a passenger's disruptive behavior forced the flight crew to divert the plane to Albuquerque International Sunport. The man was detained at Albuquerque where he was faced with questioning. Seems like no one on the plane was hurt and there weren’t any ties to terrorism said FBI spokesman Frank Fisher. You hear of stories like this one every day but have you ever heard of a private aircraft being re-routed back or forced to land somewhere other than its final destination? This is why you should book your next flight with Sky Limo Air Charter. Get the best experience in air travel by booking a private jet flight. You won’t have to deal with any of the typical hassles of flying commercial or with disruptive behavior. Sky Limo has an extensive fleet of private aircrafts all different in size, in case you need to travel with friends or coworkers. Fly without disruption, fly Sky Limo Air Charter.

Locking your price

According to an article from CNN.com customers can now choose to hold a ticket for 72-hours up to seven days, with fees starting at $5 for a 72-hour lock-in period and $9 for the seven-day option. Continental Airlines introduced and called this the FareLock. This basically gives clients the option to hold their tickets but not the obligation to buy. Continental Airlines wants to give their clients more options when booking through them. "This new option is another way that Continental is giving our customers more choices and more control over their travel experience" said Chris Amenechi, managing director of merchandising. Seems like this can be an interesting option but the airline is charging for it. Is this really a way to give clients more options or simply a clever way to make more money of them? Baggage fees already brought in $2.5 billion for U.S. airlines this year alone! And in case you were wondering, the FareLock fees are nonrefundable. You want more options, than book a private air charter such as Sky Limo Air Charter. By doing so you can make your own schedule and not deal with delays. You can bring all the baggage you want and don’t expect to be charged for it.

Reclining Your Seat

We all like to be as comfortable as possible when flying, but what happens when the person sitting in front of you decides to reline his seat? You, of course, feel much less comfortable and even a little cramped. Reclining your seat, a privilege or a right? According to Lizzie Post in an article from CNN.com she says “It's not a right; it's not a privilege; it's a function of the seat that you purchase”. She also added that she wishes that airlines would simply remove the reclining option because it's so annoying for the people sitting behind the recliners. So, what is the reclining etiquette? Should you recline your seat for the entire flight, or be courteous and recline it just for a little while? Unfortunately, whether you like it or not, the seats recline exactly for that purpose, so if you're uncomfortable than maybe a private aircraft would be something to consider. Book your private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, no long lines at the airport, no multiple security screenings and lots and lots of leg room and space. By flying with a private air charter you won't have to deal with seats backed up in your lap. No reclining worries, no hassles, no problems, that's if you fly with Sky Limo.

Sky Limo Rides the Intracoastal in the Winterfest Boat Parade 2010

Full-service aviation company, Sky Limo Air Charter, collects more than 500 toys for Toys for Tots Campaign

After months of preparation, Sky Limo made its mark during this year’s Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade. The float, which was the brainchild of Sky Limo’s Tom Conlan, featured a 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft that was mounted onto a barge. The Frank Sinatra inspired “Fly Me to the Moon” theme was complete with a lunar moon backdrop, dancing flight attendants, black-tie businessmen and a Frank Sinatra impersonator with a deejay playing his music.

“Taking part in this year’s Winterfest Boat Parade was an easy decision,” Conlan said. “We wanted to do something that [to our knowledge] has never been done before, while at the same time encouraging a family atmosphere amongst our employees. This was a project everyone here could have some fun with, as well as be able to celebrate the holiday season while doing something special for the community.”

Being involved in charity, and the community in general, is important to Sky Limo, which is why the company decided to launch a cooperative effort with the United States Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” campaign. With their Winterfest entry this year, Sky Limo mounted the aircraft a few feet up in the air, leaving an open area directly beneath the aircraft. Sky Limo, its employees and members of the community donated thousands of dollars worth of unwrapped toys, including bicycles, for “Toys for Tots.”

The mission of the Sky Limo Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys, and distribute those toys as gifts to needy children in the community. The primary goal is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
“Sky Limo is a company that is always looking to further immerse itself in the community where its employees work and live,” said Conlan. “And we strongly feel that this was a unique opportunity to do exactly that.”

Choosing a Seat on a Plane

So, you're going on vacation and you have to book your flight. Have you thought about where you'd like to sit? Some people are willing to pay extra to get a little more leg room or to sit in a less noisy area. Did you know that airlines charge “selection” fees for special requests? If you're looking to sit in front of the plane to maybe get that extra leg room, expect to pay extra for that. This is called “unbundling” and airlines will charge you for special requests. Generally, the best place to sit in a plane is the front. This is especially an advantage if you tend to get air sick because the plane is more stable towards the front and you're bothered less by the bathroom sounds. By flying on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, you won’t have to deal with any of the typical hassles of flying or choosing a special seat. By taking a private aircraft, you'll have all the space and privacy you need to enjoy a relaxing flight. So make the right decision and instead of having to choose a good seat, simply choose Sky Limo.

Things airlines Don't Want To Tell You

You have been granted time off from work and you are excited to go on vacation. You choose a destination and book your flight, things could not be better. When you get to the airport, things don't go as smooth as you had hoped for. You are told that your bag exceeds the weight limit allowed and you have to pay extra. The non-stop flight you booked has been changed with no warning and you now have a layover. Also seems like the air might not be so clean. Based on an article from MSN.com the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating whether the fumes that circulate in airplanes cabins are potentially harmful. Wow, suddenly your excitement level went from very high to very low. You shouldn't be going through all these stresses when travelling. Instead you should be treated like royalty and your travelling experience should be a great one. Well, if this sounds like the kind of travel you are looking for, then make sure to call Sky Limo’s private aviation representatives today, they will offer you the very best in the friendly skies. Sky Limo Jet Makes Intracoastal Landing in Winterfest Boat Parade

Making aviation waves, Sky Limo Air Charter reports it will make its first Intracoastal “landing” this weekend in Florida’s 39th annual Winterfest Boat Parade expected to attract one million attendees. Earlier this week, the Florida-based full service aviation company made headline news as it spent hours traveling through Fort Lauderdale by police escort preparing to make its landing in this year’s Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

The 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft was sought after by Sky Limo’s Tom Conlan, when he thought of a Frank Sinatra inspired “Fly Me to the Moon” theme for this year’s parade.

“With a little help from our friends at World Jet, along with the jet and lunar backdrop, the completed float will have dancing flight attendants, black-tie businessmen and a Frank Sinatra impersonator with a deejay playing his music,” said Conlan, president and owner of Sky Limo Corporation.

“Taking part in this year’s Winterfest Boat Parade was an easy decision,” Conlan continued.

For its Winterfest entry this year, Sky Limo is mounting the aircraft a few feet up in the air, leaving an open area to be filled with donated toys directly beneath the aircraft. The goal is to launch a “Toys for Tots” collection site at the launch location for Saturday’s Winterfest Parade.

“Sky Limo is a company that is always looking to further immerse itself in the community where its employees work and live,” said Conlan. “And we strongly feel that this is a unique opportunity to do exactly that.”

Spectators can view the Winterfest Boat Parade along Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk starting at 6 p.m. on December 11, 2010.

Florida’s Sky Limo and Toys for Tots Holiday Campaign Gives Back

The first aircraft joins the Winterfest Boat Parade with a purpose. Being involved in the community is important to Sky Limo, and that is why it is launching a cooperative effort with the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign.

Sky Limo Air Charter is ready to make its mark during this year's Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade by mounting a 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 airjet on a barge. There will be a little extra room on the float - just enough space to fill with donated toys. Sky Limo's ultimate goal is to help "Toys for Tots" by setting up a collection site at the launch location for Saturday's event.

Please join Sky Limo and The United States Marine Corps this Saturday to help make this Holiday Season the best one yet for our community's children!

Planes, Cranes and Sky Limo in the News with Winterfest Boat Parade

Sky Limo will be the first aircraft ever to participate in the Winterfest Boat Parade on Saturday. A 48-foot long, ten-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft, with a 44-foot wingspan was lifted by crane, transported through the streets of Fort Lauderdale, and placed onto a barge where it will be dropped into the Intracoastal for Saturday's festivities.

The unorthodox float drew plenty of South Florida media coverage: reporters from the Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, WFOR CBS 4, WPLG Local 10, and WSVN 7News have been closely watching the events leading up to the parade's 6:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff, dubbed "the greatest show on H2O."

The jet will be themed "Fly Me to the Moon" and will also serve as a collection site for the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign.

"We think that would be an exciting part of the program (to) have everybody come down and bring a toy," says Sky Limo owner Tom Conlan. "We are going to try and fill the whole front of the barge with toys."

Has TSA Gone Too Far?

Following the 9/11 terror attacks we all want to make sure that the airports are taking the necessary precautions to make us all feel safer. Now the TSA introduced body scanners which will x-ray your entire body, exposing everything. We are not even sure what the repercussions of going through these scanners are going to be over time. When you fly on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, you won’t be exposed to any of those x-ray scanners. You will have the luxury of being treated like a king and while in the air our world-class jet concierge services will make sure that you have the best flight possible. Not only will you get VIP treatment, you’ll also get help with hotel reservations and car rentals. Now we are not saying that the TSA is wrong for doing what they are doing, but has all of this gone a little too far? Not only do we have to wait long lines and take off our shoes and have our personal things inspected but now we have to be subjected to either groping or going through scanners. Avoid the long lines, screenings, x-rays, the groping and hidden fees, call one of our Sky Limo private aviation representatives today and book a great trip, you won't regret it!

Thanks Sky Limo

I wanted to fly on a specific date so I can make it to a business meeting in Denver but be back on time for my daughter’s birthday party in Los Angeles.
It was impossible to get a first class flight on a commercial airline so I had some assistance in contacting Sky Limo. I ended up booking an air charter on one of their fancy private planes so I can be super work partner and super dad at the same time.
My flight was really great. So much space on the plane, what a difference between flying solo and flying with tons of people on the plane. So quiet, no people talking, no babies crying I even got some work done and prepared for my meeting. The airport experience was also calm, no multiple security screenings, no waiting line, checking in, it was fast and painless.
On board I learned Sky Limo had concierge services. They can help with reserving hotel rooms, car rentals and tickets for special shows. They also provide gourmet food onboard that delicious.
Thanks Sky Limo for helping me make it back in time for my daughter’s birthday.

The secret is out

For those who don't watch the news, you have a second chance at seeing what we are up to for this years Boat Parade.

Paris’ skyline including the Tour Eiffel is also one the world’s most amazing views. The Matterhorn in Switzerland and its summit at 14, 692 feet. Machu Pichu, the Golden Gate Bridge, Tiger’ Nest’s and the Great Barrier Reef round up the list.

Flight Attendants Get Annoyed Regularly

Anonymous flight attendants posted some of the ways passengers on commercial airlines irritate them. With the help of budgettravel, com, Sky Limo, your private aviation company, shares with you their biggest pet peeves. First on the list is violating federal regulations when it comes to pets on board. Passengers violate rules when the dog is left loose in the aisle, tucked in a seatback pocket or on their lap. Second biggest pet peeve is when passengers shove their bags in the firs bin they see even though it’s nowhere near close to where they are sitting. Next biggest irritating thing passengers can do is to not act like a parent. Flight attendants said passengers asked them spare diapers, formula, medicine and toys. Flight attendants are also annoyed when passengers drag oversized and over-packed bags on board with them. Passengers expect them to put it in the overhead bin, which they are not supposed to. People complain about the fact that they haven’t been placed in a roomy exit-row seat, so flight attendants receive the gripe about it. Whining about the high price of flying is another thing people complain about when they’re onboard an airplane. All in all, flight attendants work hard.

Strange City Tours

According to Travel and Leisure, America has some pretty weird tours offered to tourists nationwide. For example, Los Angeles, California has a “Running from the Paparazzi” tour where people pretend to run away from the flashing bulbs of photogs as they hang out in celebrities’ favorite places. New York also has some weird tours for visitors, about 300 of them. One example is the 1968 Hearse Tour that was inspired after Heath Ledger’s death when people would gather in front of his apartment. One of the city’s most popular tour is accessed by a flight of stairs in Doc Maynard’s public house, a restored 19th century saloon, the supposedly haunted tunnels. There are even souvenir tours.
For your own adventure, try flying on a private jet by chartering a private aircraft with Sky Limo Air Charter. You’ll love your comfortable flight, spacious cabin and tons of legroom. Sky Limo also has jet concierge services to help you with any VIP treatment you might need to make your experience even better.

Cool Hotel Activities

Sky Limo Air Charter with the help of MSN Travel is here to share with you all the great activities hotels can offer these days. And when you find one you really want to try, just call Sky Limo’s private aviation company for your very own private jet ride. You’ll have plenty of legroom, cabin space, comfort and best of all you’ll decide your travel itinerary. You’ll be a VIP passenger and Sky Limo’s concierge services can help make the hotel reservations for you. Number one on the list is Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas. In this hotel you can get a lesson on dolphin behavior, physiology and marine-life conservation. You can also jump in the cove and then have interaction with dolphins in the water. The Hotel Hershey in Pa offers falconry, a sport that originated in central Asia over 4,000 years ago. The experience includes a free-flight demo, a simulated hunt demo and holding a bird of prey, most likely a Harris Hawk. On the Big Island of Hawaii at the Hualalai Resort you can paddle a single or two or four-boat while canoeing. These are just some of the cool hotel activities out there that you try for a once a lifetime experience.

Health Insurance When Traveling

You might have booked you hotel, prepared your suitcase, booked your car rental, even reserved you own private jet for a flight in the Bahamas, but Sky Limo Air Charter is here to remind you that you might want to also check your healthcare coverage regarding traveling.
Accidents can happen anywhere, at home, at work or when you’re traveling. And checking into an emergency room somewhere like the Bahamas for example is different than walking into a hospital close to home. Insurance plans and the coverage vary from provider to even the actual member. It’s important that you ask your insurance provider what your benefits are when you travel outside the country, Ask about what kind of out of pocket costs can you expect in the event of an emergency room trip or hospitalization even. You never know and you want to be prepared. Figure out if you have an HMO or a PPO plan and how that affects your health insurance when you’re traveling. Traveling is costly enough, so the private aviation company reminds you to double check your coverage because you might have to get additional one temporarily.

Titanic Tourism

According to Bing online, in Branson, Mo and Pigeon Forge, Tenn, you can find sister exhibits about the Titanic in the “Titanic: World’s largest Museum Attraction.” Tourists feel like they’re really on the 1912 ship. Visitors can walk the grand staircase, send an SOS, climb aboard the lifeboats, shovel coal into the furnace, listen to the captain’s commands and even feel like the ship is sinking. There’s more Titanic tourism. Commercial Airline Being Sued: Part 2

Sky Limo continues to bring you the facts surrounding the $5 million lawsuit against commercial airline, American Airlines. For more background information and context refer back to Commercial Airline Being Sued: Part 1.
The passenger who’s suing says she asked to be refunded immediately for her lost bag but was denied. American Airlines says that the incident happened on a flight form Chicago, Illinois, on the second leg of the traveler’s trip to Michigan, because American Airlines doesn’t have flights from Seattle to Grand Rapids. Her flight was canceled so American Airlines booked the passenger on another flight. When she arrived in Grand Rapids, Michigan she realized her bag was missing and spoke with the other airline about the issue. The bag was found and delivered to her the next day by that airline’s representative. American Airline says that there are no records of the passenger contacting them about delayed bag or a claim or a checked bag charge. Sky Limo will keep you posted on how this story unfolds.
In the meantime, if you don’t want to deal with lost bags, just fly on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter and enjoy a comfortable and luxurious flight.

Commercial Airline Being Sued: Part 1

The staff at Sky Limo Air Charter, your luxury private aviation company, just found out that a very unhappy commercial airline passenger is suing American Airline for $5 million. This Pierce County, Washington local is so frustrated over a fee and a lost bag that she’s taking matters into court. The class action complaint filed in federal court says “the airline has breached its agreements with its passengers every time they have lost or delayed luggage and failed to refund the passengers their baggage fee.” American Airlines is disputing the passenger’s version of events and stress the fact that passengers can always request a fee refund as part of a baggage claim. Court papers say the passenger paid $25 back in May for flights from Seattle, Washington to Grand Rapids, Michigan, but the bag wasn’t found when the traveler arrived. American Airlines informed her that they didn’t know where the bag was or if it would ever be returned. The passenger says she asked what can American Airlines do and she was told nothing could be done. Sky Limo found out the items in the bag were estimated at $800 and the passenger spent $300 for additional clothes and toiletries.

Guests, allegedly, are happier and more satisfied this year compared to 2009, especially when it came to cost of their stay, the reservation process and the quality of the room. J. D. Power and Associates also found that hotel guests were happier by making reservation directly through the hotel instead of the phone or independent travel website, because twice as many of them experienced problems when booking through the web. When it came to must-have amenities, the survey showed people preferring wi-fi, complimentary breakfast, bedding and pillow choices, pillow-top mattresses and free parking as their top five choices. Roadside Attractions Part 2:

Sky Limo continues to bring you the list of the very own wonders on the streets of America. The next roadside attraction in the US is the Benewah Milk bottles in Spokane, Washington. Biosphere 2 in Oracle, Arizona is another popular roadside attraction where visitors can learn all about the past and future of planet Earth. It looks like a spaceship elevated on a ridge almost 4,000 feet above sea level. The Blue Whale in Catoosa, Oklahoma is the bizarre sighting you’ll see along route 66. It was an anniversary gift that a husband gave his wife during the 70s. It rests in a pond that has become a watering hole for locals and visitors.
Book your private jet flight with Sky Limo Air Charter, the full service private aviation company, to see these wonderful local roadside attractions. You’ll enjoy a wonderful and comfortable journey in the friendly skies, experiencing an attraction in itself.

Roadside Attractions Part 1:

Sky Limo Air Charter loves to report on everything travel. As a private aviation company, we truly our passionate about private aircrafts, tours, the friendly skies, vacations and all things travel. Recently one of our staff members found an online article on Time.com that listed a bunch of American roadside attractions. Number one on the list was Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, Ala. There are tiny replicas, made of marble, building supplies, costume jewelry, of St. Peter’s Basilica, the leaning Tower of Pisa, the grotto of St. Theresa, the Great Wall of China and mini versions of Jerusalem, Rome and Bethlehem. Another top 50 American roadside attraction is the Beer-Can House in Houston, Texas. In 1968, a homeowner got tired of mowing his lawn that he laid marble, rock and wood into landscaping features. He then covered his house with aluminum siding made entirely of flattened beer cans. Over 18 years he attached about 50,000 beer cans including bee-garlands that hang from the roof.
If you’d like to fly on a private jet to see these one of a kind road side attractions, just book your private aircraft with Sky Limo and you’ll be well on your way on your schedule.

Enjoy Traveling Again

When’s the last time you really enjoyed traveling. Not just the destination, the traveling part as well. Getting on a plane and flying towards your vacation destination should be fun and prep you towards your fabulous trip. During that time you’re supposed to anticipate all the activities to come and feel relaxed. But when you’re stuck between two passengers in the middle seat like a sardine in a can, fun doesn’t really describe the experience. It’s more like a ‘get me out of here’ moment. Not to mention, the hassles of flying commercial and having to deal with the usual at the airport. The long lines everywhere whether it’s in the security screening or waiting to use the restroom. The running around to your next connecting flight that’s typically really far from your starting point. The waiting around at the baggage carousel, hoping your airline hasn’t lost your luggage and more. When you charter a private jet, you don’t have to deal with any of it. Flying becomes part of your vacation and can even be part of the highlights. Have you ever flown on a private aircraft. Think lots of space, privacy, flexibility of making your own schedule and a view like no other. Sky Limo Air Charter invites you to book your private jet flight today!

Flying With Kids

Flying these days is not on the top lists of fun things to do, especially when you’re flying with kids. The already usual hassles of flying commercial like crowded airports and making it on time to catch your connecting flight, become even more of a hassle. One way to make it easier on yourself is to try to assign responsibilities to some of your children. Say for example, you’re flying with a three-year old and a ten-year old, the older sibling can definitely help. Weighing your bags before you get to the airport will also ensure that you don’t have to start transferring items from one suitcase to another, while keeping an eye on your children. Try to make sure that your kids have eaten a meal before heading to the airport, that way you don’t have to start navigating through the long lines at the crowded airport food courts. Make sure your children are wearing clothes and shoes that will go through security with the least hassles. No fancy shoes, no belts or jewelry.
Of course, another way to bypass all of these hassles are to fly with Sky Limo Air Charter on a private jet. You’ll feel comfortable while flying with your kids and get all the help you wish and deserve. No crowded airports, no waiting around, and a great view.

Unusual Requests for Travel Agents

Since Sky Limo Air Charter likes to report on all things travel and aviation, the subject of travel agents fits the mold. And weird requests from travelers to travel agents make it even more interesting to report. According to an article on AOL.com, clients ask travel agents all sorts of unusual things like getting on a plane that will fly upside down. Or getting to rent only orange cars from a car rental company. Or booking cruises that are only on their maiden voyage for specific people afraid of germs. Another weird request was that a traveler wanted to go underneath a polar ice cap in a submarine.
Sky Limo is proud to say that we don’t get too many weird requests. Just the usual client who likes to live the good life and wants to fly on a private jet. Plus, our private aircraft passengers don’t deal with travel agents, they can directly talk to our private air charter representatives and get everything they want from a certain private plane to concierge services in the air.

Passport Fees Increasing

According to CNN.com, soon it’s going to cost you more to apply for a new US passport or even to renew an old passport. Starting, July 13th, adults applying for their first passport will have to pay $135, a 35% increase from the past fee of $100. The cost of the wallet-size passport card, which Americans use on trips closer to home, will go from $45 to $55 for first-time applicants. For more visa pages in your passport, you’ll have to pay $82. Renewing your passport will cost $110 instead of the past $75 fee. There’s even a new fee for renouncing your US citizenship, costing $450. Officials say they’re increasing the cost because fees aren’t covering the government’s cost for the services. The increase in fees also helps pay for all the increased security and anti-fraud measures that were added to passports in the recent years.
Sky Limo Air Charter, a private aviation company, reminds you to make sure your travel documents are all up to date so that you can enjoy stress-free traveling. And to make it even more hassle-free and fun to travel, trying booking a private jet instead of flying on commercial airlines and hiring to deal with crowded airports and other nonsense.

Solar-Paneled Plane Takes Flight

Sky Limo Air Charter, a private aviation company, loves to inform you of the latest news to hit the aviation industry. And according to CNN.com, in Switzerland, a solar-powered aircraft recently completed a 26-hour test flight. Solar Impulse flew to a height of about 28,000 feet. The battery charged with its level rising thanks to the sun. It didn’t use any fuel and didn’t cause any pollution. In the evening, the plane slowly descended to 4,500 feet where it flew throughout the night just using the battery power. An hour before dawn , the article on CNN says that the aircraft still had six hours of flying time. Solar Impulse has a wingspan of more than 206 feet which resembles the wingspan of an Airbus A340. The solar-powered aircraft weighs about 3,500 pounds and has about 12,000 solar cells attached to its wings. The plane also has four electric engines and has a top speed of about 43 miles per hour. Avoid Luggage fees

The UPS store has launched a new product called luggage boxes to target customers who don’t want to be paying luggage fees to commercial airlines. Passengers can ship their personal belongings ahead of time and before embarking on their flight. The luggage boxes actually look like cardboard suitcases complete with a handle. They’re priced high from $12.95 for a small on to $17.95 for a larger one, which kind of defeats the purpose, especially when you’ll also have to pay for shipping it. The smaller luggage box can actually hold 55 pounds which if fully loaded can cost a lot of money to ship. Most commercial airlines charge about $25 each way to check your first piece of luggage at the airport and it arrives at the same time you do, unlike the new UPS luggage box.

A better way of not dealing with extra charges and fees from commercial airlines is to fly on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter. Not only will you not be charged for any of your suitcases, you’ll also enjoy lots of privacy, comfort and exclusive, world-class jet concierge service. You’ll arrive at your destination on time and rested. There’s really no other way to fly.

More Complaints Against Commercial Airlines

Travel and Leisure recently released a survey compiling commercial airline complaint information from the Department of Transportation. The legacy airlines take up the top spot for complaints followed by the low-cost airlines and regional airlines. Worst Airports This Summer

If you’re not going to be chartering a private jet for some of your trips this summer and dealing with a better service at the airports and executive airports, Sky Limo suggests you read below to get familiar with some of the most congested airport during this busy season. According to Forbes.com, here’s the latest on some of the most popular airports in America. The main runway at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York has been shut down for major renovations for a few months now and will be closed until July. Miami International Airport is gradually opening a mile-long terminal, but the passenger train serving it won’t be operational until fall. There’s a huge highway project reportedly “snarling traffic” at Dallas-Fort Worth International airport. In Chicago, the main road into Midway International Airport is being reconstructed and repaved. Newark Airport is also repaving. Things You Wouldn’t Hear From a Baggage Handler

Smartmoney.com had an interesting article about baggage handlers of commercial airlines. The article listed all the truths they would never tell you, like for example, that they’re losing less bags, because there are less bags to lose. According to the Department of Transportation there were 3.91 ‘mishandled’ (lost, stolen or damaged) bags per 1,000 passengers in 2009, compared to 5.26 in 2008 and 7.05 the year before that. However, this decrease in lost bags is due to the decrease in less passengers. Another thing baggage handler would never tell you is “We can handle your pet, but can they handle us?” When flying cargo pets can be exposed to loud noises and extreme temperatures and the mere separation from the owner can also be difficult for them. So make sure you understand the airlines’ policy about pets flying so you can find out whether or not your pet can withstand the experience. Baggage handlers will never tell you that they don’t actually work that hard. Most of the luggage check-in work is done by machines along with the heavy lifting. The conveyor belt and other systems do most of the work, depending on the size of the airport.

For a satisfying flying experience, try chartering a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter. You’ll enjoy you luxurious and comfortable flight, arrive safe and rested, with your bags next to you, and your pet if he or she needs to come along for the ride. Enjoy flying on a private aircraft for business or pleasure.

Traveling With Pets

When chartering a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, you don’t have to worry about your four-legged best friend. Pets can get onboard the private aircraft with you and enjoy the comforts, however that wasn’t always the case when traveling the less luxurious way, through airports and commercial airlines. But these days, thanks to the US Department of Transportation , airlines have to provide relief areas for service animals like guide dogs. And now many airlines and airports, are going beyond the required minimum. San Francisco International Airport has two fenced relief areas outside baggage claims with drinking bowls and mutt mitts to pick up waste. The Lambert St.Louis International Airport has two gated outdoor areas for animals to play off-leash. Philadelphia International Airport has seven fenced pet port areas, each with mulch surface, biodegradable pet waste bags, bench and faux fire hydrant. Sky Limo learnt that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International has a dog park as big as 1,000 square feet with flowers, grass, benches, dog sculptures and even art. On average, about 15 dogs visit the park every day. For ultra comfort and luxury though, there’s no beating flying on a private flight for you and your friend.

New Airline Passenger Protection Rules

We hope you have the chance to fly on a private jet in the near future whether for business or pleasure. There are so many perks to flying on a private aircraft, so many comforts and it’s much more pleasant than flying the regular way. No waiting in terminals, no multiple security screenings, no hassles. We know how uncomfortable it is to fly commercial, there’s a lot to deal with, making the traveling experience almost unwelcomed. However, if you must fly commercial, Sky Limo wants you to know that there are changes to the new airline passenger protection rules. The Department of Transportation’s tarmac delay rule subjects airlines to stiff fines if passengers are stuck on a tarmac for more than three hours on domestic flights. According to CNN.com, this was prompted by a numerous long delays back in 2006 which DOT documented as ‘undue discomfort and inconvenience.’ The tipping point came in 2009 when 47 airline passengers were trapped overnight on a tarmac in Rochester, Minnesota. Now the DOT requires airlines to respond to a complaint within 60 days amongst other new rules and procedures.

Check for amenities, for prices, for deals, for pictures and don’t forget reviews or testimonials. You can find out what people are saying about the villa you’re interested in. Talk with an agent and ask more specific questions, such as how far is the villa from a grocery store, from entertainment venues, from restaurants and so on. They might even be able to steer you towards other rental villas. Don’t forget to draw up a contract and make sure it includes specifics.
