Stay Organized While Traveling

When you’re traveling it’s hard to always stay organized, especially in your hotel room and even more so if it’s a small room. Sky Limo air Charter, your private aviation company, wants to share with you a great traveling tip. A great advice to help you find things easily and say organized is to bring with you an over-the-door shoe organizer. As soon as you start settling in, that’s the first thing you should unpack. Place it over the bathroom and many of the things you unpack later will ft right in. Think toiletries like q-tips, cotton swabs, makeup remover, aspiring, bobby pins, hair brush, gel anything almost can right into the little individualized plastic compartments. It keeps everything dry and easy to find, literally at your fingertips. The concierge staff at Sky Limo Air Charter hopes this traveling tip makes a difference on your next trip.

Point That Laser Elsewhere, Please

Have you ever played with those tiny little lasers that are so much fun to point against a wall? Well according to CNN.com a spike in the incidence of people pointing lasers into the cockpits of planes has the Federal Aviation Administration worried and encouraging public vigilance. This might sound like a silly problem but nevertheless it's a problem and a serious one at that according to FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt. These tiny lasers are dangerous because they can distract a pilot or even temporarily blind the pilot when he/she is attempting to land or take off. There are 2,200 instances that have been reported due to these lasers according to CNN.com. Pointing a laser in an airplane cockpit is a federal crime. A Rhode Island man was arrested on two counts of shining the tiny laser into a Continental Airlines flight. He faces 20 years in jail and a $250,000 fine. If you want the best in air travel without laser pointing incidents then you should book a private aircraft. With Sky Limo Air Charter you'll get a restful flight full of perks like legroom, a spacious stylish cabin, gourmet food on board and more. With Sky Limo's jet concierge services you'll have a great flight and you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Sky Limo on National Business Aviation Association for Toys for Tots Campaign

NBAA reported this week that Sky Limo collected over $5,000 in Toys for Tots donations for needy children in South Florida and “flew” the toys on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 in a Sabre 60 business jet. High-speed cruise for both flights was estimated at two to three knots.

“We ‘flew’ the airplane in two big holiday water parades here in South Florida,” said Damian Lopez, Sky Limo Director of Business Development. “Our Sabre 60 jet was mounted on a barge on the Intracoastal Waterway for participation in both the Seminole Hardrock Winterfest Boat Parade and the Pompano Boat Parade.” The company arrayed thousands of unwrapped toys beneath the airplane during the parades, much to the delight of more than one million children and adults watching live and on TV broadcasts.

Sky Limo, an air charter company based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, has contributed to numerous local charities in south Florida since its founding in 1998, and this year’s Toys for Tots effort will help cheer more than 100,000 underprivileged children in south Florida. The mission of Toys for Tots is to provide hope for less fortunate children and encourage them to become responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.

Construction of the Sky Limo Float

“We’re always looking to further immerse ourselves in the community,’” said Sky Limo owner Tom Conlan, “and this was a unique opportunity to do just that.”

Passenger Trouble

Flying through regular airlines is always full of surprises. According to findings from CNN.com, a man prompted a Continental Airlines flight to make an unscheduled stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Seems like flight number 1576 was on its way to Houston, Texas from San Jose, California when a passenger's disruptive behavior forced the flight crew to divert the plane to Albuquerque International Sunport. The man was detained at Albuquerque where he was faced with questioning. Seems like no one on the plane was hurt and there weren’t any ties to terrorism said FBI spokesman Frank Fisher. You hear of stories like this one every day but have you ever heard of a private aircraft being re-routed back or forced to land somewhere other than its final destination? This is why you should book your next flight with Sky Limo Air Charter. Get the best experience in air travel by booking a private jet flight. You won’t have to deal with any of the typical hassles of flying commercial or with disruptive behavior. Sky Limo has an extensive fleet of private aircrafts all different in size, in case you need to travel with friends or coworkers. Fly without disruption, fly Sky Limo Air Charter.

Locking your price

According to an article from CNN.com customers can now choose to hold a ticket for 72-hours up to seven days, with fees starting at $5 for a 72-hour lock-in period and $9 for the seven-day option. Continental Airlines introduced and called this the FareLock. This basically gives clients the option to hold their tickets but not the obligation to buy. Continental Airlines wants to give their clients more options when booking through them. "This new option is another way that Continental is giving our customers more choices and more control over their travel experience" said Chris Amenechi, managing director of merchandising. Seems like this can be an interesting option but the airline is charging for it. Is this really a way to give clients more options or simply a clever way to make more money of them? Baggage fees already brought in $2.5 billion for U.S. airlines this year alone! And in case you were wondering, the FareLock fees are nonrefundable. You want more options, than book a private air charter such as Sky Limo Air Charter. By doing so you can make your own schedule and not deal with delays. You can bring all the baggage you want and don’t expect to be charged for it.

Reclining Your Seat

We all like to be as comfortable as possible when flying, but what happens when the person sitting in front of you decides to reline his seat? You, of course, feel much less comfortable and even a little cramped. Reclining your seat, a privilege or a right? According to Lizzie Post in an article from CNN.com she says “It's not a right; it's not a privilege; it's a function of the seat that you purchase”. She also added that she wishes that airlines would simply remove the reclining option because it's so annoying for the people sitting behind the recliners. So, what is the reclining etiquette? Should you recline your seat for the entire flight, or be courteous and recline it just for a little while? Unfortunately, whether you like it or not, the seats recline exactly for that purpose, so if you're uncomfortable than maybe a private aircraft would be something to consider. Book your private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, no long lines at the airport, no multiple security screenings and lots and lots of leg room and space. By flying with a private air charter you won't have to deal with seats backed up in your lap. No reclining worries, no hassles, no problems, that's if you fly with Sky Limo.

Sky Limo Rides the Intracoastal in the Winterfest Boat Parade 2010

Full-service aviation company, Sky Limo Air Charter, collects more than 500 toys for Toys for Tots Campaign

After months of preparation, Sky Limo made its mark during this year’s Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade. The float, which was the brainchild of Sky Limo’s Tom Conlan, featured a 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft that was mounted onto a barge. The Frank Sinatra inspired “Fly Me to the Moon” theme was complete with a lunar moon backdrop, dancing flight attendants, black-tie businessmen and a Frank Sinatra impersonator with a deejay playing his music.

“Taking part in this year’s Winterfest Boat Parade was an easy decision,” Conlan said. “We wanted to do something that [to our knowledge] has never been done before, while at the same time encouraging a family atmosphere amongst our employees. This was a project everyone here could have some fun with, as well as be able to celebrate the holiday season while doing something special for the community.”

Being involved in charity, and the community in general, is important to Sky Limo, which is why the company decided to launch a cooperative effort with the United States Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” campaign. With their Winterfest entry this year, Sky Limo mounted the aircraft a few feet up in the air, leaving an open area directly beneath the aircraft. Sky Limo, its employees and members of the community donated thousands of dollars worth of unwrapped toys, including bicycles, for “Toys for Tots.”

The mission of the Sky Limo Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys, and distribute those toys as gifts to needy children in the community. The primary goal is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
“Sky Limo is a company that is always looking to further immerse itself in the community where its employees work and live,” said Conlan. “And we strongly feel that this was a unique opportunity to do exactly that.”

Choosing a Seat on a Plane

So, you're going on vacation and you have to book your flight. Have you thought about where you'd like to sit? Some people are willing to pay extra to get a little more leg room or to sit in a less noisy area. Did you know that airlines charge “selection” fees for special requests? If you're looking to sit in front of the plane to maybe get that extra leg room, expect to pay extra for that. This is called “unbundling” and airlines will charge you for special requests. Generally, the best place to sit in a plane is the front. This is especially an advantage if you tend to get air sick because the plane is more stable towards the front and you're bothered less by the bathroom sounds. By flying on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, you won’t have to deal with any of the typical hassles of flying or choosing a special seat. By taking a private aircraft, you'll have all the space and privacy you need to enjoy a relaxing flight. So make the right decision and instead of having to choose a good seat, simply choose Sky Limo.

Things airlines Don't Want To Tell You

You have been granted time off from work and you are excited to go on vacation. You choose a destination and book your flight, things could not be better. The non-stop flight you booked has been changed with no warning and you now have a layover. Also seems like the air might not be so clean. Based on an article from MSN.com the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating whether the fumes that circulate in airplanes cabins are potentially harmful. Wow, suddenly your excitement level went from very high to very low. You shouldn't be going through all these stresses when travelling. Instead you should be treated like royalty and your travelling experience should be a great one. Sky Limo Jet Makes Intracoastal Landing in Winterfest Boat Parade

Making aviation waves, Sky Limo Air Charter reports it will make its first Intracoastal “landing” this weekend in Florida’s 39th annual Winterfest Boat Parade expected to attract one million attendees. Earlier this week, the Florida-based full service aviation company made headline news as it spent hours traveling through Fort Lauderdale by police escort preparing to make its landing in this year’s Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

The 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft was sought after by Sky Limo’s Tom Conlan, when he thought of a Frank Sinatra inspired “Fly Me to the Moon” theme for this year’s parade.

“With a little help from our friends at World Jet, along with the jet and lunar backdrop, the completed float will have dancing flight attendants, black-tie businessmen and a Frank Sinatra impersonator with a deejay playing his music,” said Conlan, president and owner of Sky Limo Corporation.

“Taking part in this year’s Winterfest Boat Parade was an easy decision,” Conlan continued.

For its Winterfest entry this year, Sky Limo is mounting the aircraft a few feet up in the air, leaving an open area to be filled with donated toys directly beneath the aircraft. The goal is to launch a “Toys for Tots” collection site at the launch location for Saturday’s Winterfest Parade.

“Sky Limo is a company that is always looking to further immerse itself in the community where its employees work and live,” said Conlan. “And we strongly feel that this is a unique opportunity to do exactly that.”

Spectators can view the Winterfest Boat Parade along Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk starting at 6 p.m. on December 11, 2010.

Florida’s Sky Limo and Toys for Tots Holiday Campaign Gives Back

The first aircraft joins the Winterfest Boat Parade with a purpose. Being involved in the community is important to Sky Limo, and that is why it is launching a cooperative effort with the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign.

Sky Limo Air Charter is ready to make its mark during this year's Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade by mounting a 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 airjet on a barge. There will be a little extra room on the float - just enough space to fill with donated toys. Sky Limo's ultimate goal is to help "Toys for Tots" by setting up a collection site at the launch location for Saturday's event.

Please join Sky Limo and The United States Marine Corps this Saturday to help make this Holiday Season the best one yet for our community's children!

Planes, Cranes and Sky Limo in the News with Winterfest Boat Parade

Sky Limo will be the first aircraft ever to participate in the Winterfest Boat Parade on Saturday. A 48-foot long, ten-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft, with a 44-foot wingspan was lifted by crane, transported through the streets of Fort Lauderdale, and placed onto a barge where it will be dropped into the Intracoastal for Saturday's festivities.

The unorthodox float drew plenty of South Florida media coverage: reporters from the Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, WFOR CBS 4, WPLG Local 10, and WSVN 7News have been closely watching the events leading up to the parade's 6:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff, dubbed "the greatest show on H2O."

The jet will be themed "Fly Me to the Moon" and will also serve as a collection site for the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign.

"We think that would be an exciting part of the program (to) have everybody come down and bring a toy," says Sky Limo owner Tom Conlan. "We are going to try and fill the whole front of the barge with toys."

Has TSA Gone Too Far?

Following the 9/11 terror attacks we all want to make sure that the airports are taking the necessary precautions to make us all feel safer. Now the TSA introduced body scanners which will x-ray your entire body, exposing everything. We are not even sure what the repercussions of going through these scanners are going to be over time. When you fly on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, you won’t be exposed to any of those x-ray scanners. You will have the luxury of being treated like a king and while in the air our world-class jet concierge services will make sure that you have the best flight possible. Not only will you get VIP treatment, you’ll also get help with hotel reservations and car rentals. Now we are not saying that the TSA is wrong for doing what they are doing, but has all of this gone a little too far? Not only do we have to wait long lines and take off our shoes and have our personal things inspected but now we have to be subjected to either groping or going through scanners. Avoid the long lines, screenings, x-rays, the groping and hidden fees, call one of our Sky Limo private aviation representatives today and book a great trip, you won't regret it!
