More Baggage Fees on Commercial Airlines

According to an article on MSN.com, Spirit Airlines in next to join in on the extra fees commercial airlines are starting to charge, from checked-in bags to pillows and blankets. The latest, from Spirit Airlines, is to charge for carry-ons. The popular low-cost airliner will charge up to $45 each way for a carry-on bag placed in the overhead bin. If passengers pay in advance, they will get charged $15 less, a total of $30. Spirit Airlines is also saying they’ll reduce their ticket price by $40 to balance things out. The commercial airline also charges for checked baggage.

It seems like commercial airlines are getting less and less fun to fly with. Top the extra fees with the overcrowded airports filled with overpriced food and souvenirs plus the dreaded experience with multiple security checks and body scanners and you can see why traveling is not exactly what most people look towards to, even if headed to a vacation resort. You can change your experience by flying on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter. You’ll fly on private aircraft and are allowed to bring all the bags you want with you. You’ll enjoy luxury, lots of space, gourmet food onboard and help with reserving your room or car rental should you need one at your final destination.

Airline Food and Smells

Airlines these days are not offering complimentary meals. All you have is a choice of over-priced potato chips or simple sandwich. To cope with this, many travelers are choosing to bring their own food, locked away in disposable containers. Some are choosing to bring garlic-filled foods from home or fast-food sandwiches they bought minutes before the flight or even supermarket sushi, all of which doesn’t smell good in confined spaces like an airplane and makes other passengers either simply annoyed, or worst, feel sick. So on CNN.com, there’s an article exploring the etiquette of bringing food on board with you on commercial airlines as well as how to fight hunger in the friendly skies. Some examples include bringing crackers, pretzels and fruit which is practically odorless. Another tip mentioned is to avoid bringing hot meals on the plane because they smell the most. If you’re traveling, don’t carry with you anything containing garlic, onions, vinegar, parmesan cheese or even fried foods.

Sky Limo Air Charter has a better solution to all of this. Hire the private aviation company to fly you to your destination in luxury and style, not to mention with delicious gourmet food on board all for you. You’ll love the flavors, smells and presentation of the dishes. Our jet concierge service will take care of having your favorite foods well-prepared and served with style.

Plane Flying Underwater

Sky Limo always likes to report on all things travel and the newest inventions to hit the skies, except this one goes underwater, 20,000 leagues under sea to be exact. According to CNN.com, Virgin just unveiled the latest addition to Richard’s Branson luxury fleet, an underwater plane that will fly riders complete with their very own pilot into the ‘depths of the Caribbean Sea”. Guests on Necker Island, a retreat in the British Virgin Islands will be able to dive underwater in a submarine called the Necker Nymph for $25,000 a week. But in order to stay on the private island owned by Richard Branson, it costs $300,000 a week. The underwater plane uses the downward pressure on its wings to fly through the water for up to two hours at a time. It’s typical speed is two to five nautical miles per hour and it could dive to more than 100 feet. Riders have to follow SCUBA procedures and be trained or accompanied by certified pilots before riding the plane. Virgin said: “The Necker Nymph claims "near-zero" environmental impact because its "positive buoyancy prevents the sub from landing on a reef, and its low light and noise emissions ensure the fragile ocean ecosystems remain undisturbed."

The hospitality industry built nearly 400,000 new hotel rooms in the U.S. between 2004 and 2009, but the occupancy rate dropped from 60% to 55% last year. While prices have fallen, the traditionally expensive cities have still have rooms going for a higher rate in comparison to others.
