Expensive U.S. Cities To Visit By Private Jet

According to an article on Forbes.com, New York and Honolulu remain the priciest through the recession though still offer good deals. The article says that for the first time in a very, very long time, hotel rooms in New York City are going for less than $200 a night. The hospitality industry built nearly 400,000 new hotel rooms in the U.S. between 2004 and 2009, but the occupancy rate dropped from 60% to 55% last year. Decreased pricing is coming mostly from ‘penthouse suites and swanky spots’. According to Hotels.com, in the second half of 2009 travelers paid 12% less for their hotel rooms. While prices have fallen, the traditionally expensive cities have still have rooms going for a higher rate in comparison to others. These cities include New York, Honolulu, Boston, Washington and sunny Miami.
