Meanest Airline?

2010 was a great year for the airline industry, with U.S.airlines recording the highest profits in more than 10 years. Every airline except for American Airlines had positive profits for that year. However, because of increasing baggage fees, airfare increase, elimination of free food and other factors, customers weren’t happy. According to a Business Insider study, four major U.S. carriers made their way onto the 18 worst companies in America. The meanest major carrier was United. It had the second highest customer complaint rate of all airlines in 2010. The meanest regional carrier was American Eagle. The major contributing factors for the title was that they had the most incidents of mishandled baggage and the highest involuntary denied boarding rate in 2010. The most complained about airline was Delta. Off all the 2011 Airline Quality Rating report, it had the highest complaint rate. JetBlue won the most likely to be unsafe title, with 17 documented incidents out of 219,000 flights in 2010. Finally Delta, US Airways and Continental were all dubbed most likely to overcharge for bags.

Reasons to Check Out NYC in 2011

This year is a great time to visit the Big Apple and there’s no better way to fly to NYC than with Sky Limo’s Private Air Charter. The private jet flight will make our journey spectacular right from the start. New attractions are opening in 2011, making the “the city that never sleeps” even better. For one, the first phase of the $700 million National September 11 Memorial and Museum will open in the next few months exhibiting a look at the events that happened that day with artifacts and more. The Museum of the Moving Image is already open, since January of this year, offering memorabilia and interactive exhibits on film and TV. Visitors can dub their voice in a famous movie scene and learn to edit it. The Spider Man musical is set to start on Broadway as well. The Highline is another attraction worth experiencing in New York. It’s a city park on elevated rail tracks about 20 feet above the sidewalk. It’s truly a “different” way to visit the city. The Metropolitain Museum of Art also joins in on the action, displaying 18th century artifacts from Beijing’s Forbidden City through May. See you in NYC!

Traveling Pet Peeves

Traveling isn’t always fun, especially when you’re not flying with a private air charter. Being cooped up like a sardine on a commercial airline flight is not something that passengers look forward too, no matter where they land in the next several hours. And the flight is even worst when travelers have to share their space with their beloved pets. Another pet peeve is the airport screenings and groping at a particular checkpoint before passengers get to their gate and wait and wait at the terminal. What about your snacks? Commercial airlines don’t distribute snacks on flights anymore. No, travelers have a limited choice of three that they have to buy for themselves. Other passengers onboard the flight can also make the journey harder. Screaming babies, arguing couples, coughing individuals and the rest of the typical cast can really make the hours in flight brutal. To escape all these dreaded traveling pet peeves, book your next trip with Sky Limo Air Charter. You’ll have an entire private jet to yourself with plenty of space to stretch those legs and enjoy the journey in the air. Business or pleasure, flying on a private aircraft sure beats going commercial.

Aviation in the News

Just recently, according to cnn.com, the Federal Aviation Administration issued an emergency Airworthiness Directive mandating operators of at least 80 older Boeing 737s to perform inspections for wear and tear. This just days after Southwest Airline’s 737 made an emergency landing because of the hole in its fuselage. The planes have to be inspected every 500 cycles, in other words, every take-off and landing. This mandate affects about 80 U.S. registered planes and another 95 outside of the U.S. In light of this recent news, Sky Limo wants to reassure all of its passengers that we operate a outstanding fleet of private aircrafts with the highest standards of safety, quality and service. All Sky Limo Air Charter flight operations are performed in strict accordance with FAR Part 135 regulations, the most stringent Federal Aviation Administration classification for private aviation. In addition to those regulations, our operators and aircrafts are required to meet additional safety and reliability standards established by Sky Limo. Aircraft age, pilot training, maintenance history and safety are among the criteria that’s continuously reviewed. Rest assured, on a Sky Limo private aircraft you’re safe.

AirTran Might Be Great, But There’s Nothing like Sky Limo

According to CNN, discount AirTran Airways ranked first overall 16 large U.S. carriers this past year. It improved in three of the four categories in the Airline Quality Ranking, an annual study based on analysis of Department of Transportation. AirTran got better with on-time performance, rate of consumer complaints and mishandled bags. However, consumer complaints rose from .97 per 100,000 passengers in 2009 to 1.22 in 2010. AirTran still managed to bump 2009’s top airline, Hawaiian, which in 2010 ranked number 2, followed by Jet Blue and Southwest. AirTran might be great when it comes to commercial airlines, but it can’t compare to Sky Limo Air Charter and its private jets flights. When you charter a private aircraft, you can expect all the luxuries to come standard. That means a spacious airplane cabin, plenty of privacy, a flexible schedule, no lines at the airport, no surcharges or surprise fees, just unparalleled service with an exclusive concierge staff to help you with your every need. When you’ve had enough of flying commercial, come on over to the other side of flying private. You’ll be glad you did.

American Airlines and Expedia

Just recently American Airlines patched things ups with Expedia, allowing traveling customers to purchase American Airlines flights on the popular travel website. Fares and schedules are once again displayed and the distribution dispute both companies had back in December is fixed. At the time AA wanted their own connect link. As a result of this conflict, AA also severed its relationship with Orbitz, another travel website. According to cnn.com, Expedia’s stock went up nearly 4% on the news. Squali estimates that AA flight bookings will contribute to 5 to 70% to Expedia’s annual earnings per share. If you don’t want to be caught in the drama or deal with online flight bookings, why not choose to charter a flight on a private jet. You’ll get on-on-one personal service when you call Sky Limo Air Charter representatives, exclusive jet concierge services during and even after your flight, not to mention no hassles at the airport. Sky Limo’s private jets are outfitted with the best of technological accessories on board, a professional staff on board and gourmet food to make your flight even more pleasant. Forget flying commercial, fly the private aircraft way. There’s nothing like it!
