According to CNN, discount AirTran Airways ranked first overall 16 large U.S. carriers this past year. It improved in three of the four categories in the Airline Quality Ranking, an annual study based on analysis of Department of Transportation. AirTran still managed to bump 2009’s top airline, Hawaiian, which in 2010 ranked number 2, followed by Jet Blue and Southwest.
