Airline Food and Smells

Airlines these days are not offering complimentary meals. All you have is a choice of over-priced potato chips or simple sandwich. To cope with this, many travelers are choosing to bring their own food, locked away in disposable containers. Some are choosing to bring garlic-filled foods from home or fast-food sandwiches they bought minutes before the flight or even supermarket sushi, all of which doesn’t smell good in confined spaces like an airplane and makes other passengers either simply annoyed, or worst, feel sick. So on CNN.com, there’s an article exploring the etiquette of bringing food on board with you on commercial airlines as well as how to fight hunger in the friendly skies. Some examples include bringing crackers, pretzels and fruit which is practically odorless. Another tip mentioned is to avoid bringing hot meals on the plane because they smell the most. If you’re traveling, don’t carry with you anything containing garlic, onions, vinegar, parmesan cheese or even fried foods.
