The U.S.’ Best Islands

According to AOL, there’s a list of ten best islands to visit in America. Number 10 on the list is Block Island in Rhode Island, with 17 miles of ivory-hued beaches, salt ponds and Victorian architecture. Almost half of the island is preserved open space with more than 40 endangered species and 32 miles of trails for hikers, bikers and even horseback riders. Sky Limo found out Key West, Florida is number nine on the list. There are many seafood eateries in the area, plenty of opportunities for water sports and the good life. Mackinac Island, Michigan is number eight. This island prohibits motorized vehicles and has been doing so since 1898. Mt Desert Island in Maine joins the list, with its crystal lakes and evergreen forests. The last six best islands in the U.S. include Mustang Island in Texas, Ocracoke Island in North Carolina, Orcas Island in Washington, St. Simons Island in Georgia, Santa Catalina in California and Shelter Island in New York.
