According to an article found on CNN online, happy hotel customers enjoy wireless internet and a free breakfast, smoke-free rooms and a level of service consistently high. And this information is based on findings from J.D. Power and Associates 2010 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study that was just recently released. Guests, allegedly, are happier and more satisfied this year compared to 2009, especially when it came to cost of their stay, the reservation process and the quality of the room. J. D. Power and Associates also found that hotel guests were happier by making reservation directly through the hotel instead of the phone or independent travel website, because twice as many of them experienced problems when booking through the web. When it came to must-have amenities, the survey showed people preferring wi-fi, complimentary breakfast, bedding and pillow choices, pillow-top mattresses and free parking as their top five choices. Any hint of cigarette was found to be a major turnoff, with 87% of respondents preferring a smoke-free environment.
