FAA Proposes New Pilot Training
According to CNN.com, under new proposed rules from the Federal Aviation Association, airline pilots and flight attendants would have to learn to respond to real world situations and demonstrate those skills in flight simulators and emergency drills. The FAA says these would be the most significant changes in crew training in the last 20 years. In the past, pilots only had to learn how to recognize and recover from problems, under this new proposed rule, they would have to demonstrate their skills. The FAA says this addresses issues brought up by Congress and over 25 recommendations suggested by the National Transportation Board. The goals of these new rules are meant to produce qualified crews and decrease aviation accidents. CNN says a public comment period on the rule closes on July 19, so that the FAA can spend time after that addressing the comments before making the rules official. The FAA is also working on addressing pilot fatigue, regulating flight time and rest periods as well as a rule setting minimum pilot qualifications.

How Old is Too Old For a Plane
A well-maintained aircraft can fly passengers for decades. According to MSN, the average age for US airline jets is 11 years. Older airplanes need not only more repairs, but also costlier ones. That’s why it’s sometimes more cost-efficient to add a new plane to the aircraft fleet rather then continuously repair the older ones. Older aircrafts also require more frequent inspections. Newer jets offer more fuel savings not to mention all the updated features in the cabins like personal televisions for each passenger. Almost one out of four airplanes of US airlines flying today is more than 15 years old. The Federal Aviation Administration doesn’t set a mandatory retirement age for aircrafts.

New DOT Rules
Just recently, the Department of Transportation announced new airlines regulations that are meant to benefit travelers. Airlines will soon have to refund bags if they lose them as well as pay more for bumping travelers from a flight. Presently the compensation for travelers that are bumped is up to $400 or $800 depending on how long the passenger is bumped off. Those numbers will increase to $650 and $1,330. If bags are delivered late, there will be no refund in place.
Airlines will also have to include fees and taxes in their advertised prices. Those possible fees can include checking bags, changing reservations, upgrading seats.
And last year’s rule about tarmac delay is affecting international flights now, not only domestic. Now, DOT is stopping passengers from being stranded for 4 hours on international flights for longer than four hours. If passengers are stuck for more than two hours on an international flight, the airline is required to provide food and water.
However all those changes will still not make flying commercial as comfortable as flying on a private aircraft. For less headache and less nonsense, fly with Sky Limo Air Charter. We’ll provide you with a private jet along with exclusive jet concierge services thousands of feet in the air and on the ground. You’re guaranteed tons of privacy, flexibility, comfort and of course, luxury.

Meanest Airline?
2010 was a great year for the airline industry, with U.S.airlines recording the highest profits in more than 10 years. Every airline except for American Airlines had positive profits for that year. However, because of increasing baggage fees, airfare increase, elimination of free food and other factors, customers weren’t happy. According to a Business Insider study, four major U.S. carriers made their way onto the 18 worst companies in America. The meanest major carrier was United. It had the second highest customer complaint rate of all airlines in 2010. The meanest regional carrier was American Eagle. The major contributing factors for the title was that they had the most incidents of mishandled baggage and the highest involuntary denied boarding rate in 2010. The most complained about airline was Delta. Off all the 2011 Airline Quality Rating report, it had the highest complaint rate. JetBlue won the most likely to be unsafe title, with 17 documented incidents out of 219,000 flights in 2010. Finally Delta, US Airways and Continental were all dubbed most likely to overcharge for bags.

Why Fly Commercial?
Travelling doesn't have to be a hassle. A few years back, not everybody was able to afford to fly. Today, most people can afford a ticket to almost anywhere they wish. Because of this, commercial flying has become very crowded and uncomfortable. If you have the means, flying with a private jet is wonderful. You can use a private aircraft for personal use as well as for business. The best thing about flying on a private jet is the comfort you get. You have lots of space and and privacy. Of course, the price of flying private is more expensive than flying commercial, the perks that you get are well worth it though. Once you've flown on a private jet, it's difficult to go back to commercial. If money is no object, why go through all the multiple security screenings, the long line and all the other headaches that comes with flying commercial? If you can afford it, then skip those lines and fly with a private aircraft, you won't regret it for a second. Choose Sky Limo Air Charter the next time you fly. Our jet concierge services are great! Our staff will treat you as royalty. For no mistakes, fly with Sky Limo Air Charter it's the very best in private jets!
