The latest, from Spirit Airlines, is to charge for carry-ons. The popular low-cost airliner will charge up to $45 each way for a carry-on bag placed in the overhead bin. If passengers pay in advance, they will get charged $15 less, a total of $30. Spirit Airlines is also saying they’ll reduce their ticket price by $40 to balance things out. The commercial airline also charges for checked baggage.
