According to CNN.com, soon it’s going to cost you more to apply for a new US passport or even to renew an old passport. Starting, July 13th, adults applying for their first passport will have to pay $135, a 35% increase from the past fee of $100. The cost of the wallet-size passport card, which Americans use on trips closer to home, will go from $45 to $55 for first-time applicants. For more visa pages in your passport, you’ll have to pay $82. Renewing your passport will cost $110 instead of the past $75 fee. There’s even a new fee for renouncing your US citizenship, costing $450. Officials say they’re increasing the cost because fees aren’t covering the government’s cost for the services. The increase in fees also helps pay for all the increased security and anti-fraud measures that were added to passports in the recent years.
Sky Limo Air Charter, a private aviation company, reminds you to make sure your travel documents are all up to date so that you can enjoy stress-free traveling. And to make it even more hassle-free and fun to travel, trying booking a private jet instead of flying on commercial airlines and hiring to deal with crowded airports and other nonsense.
