Boarding an Aircraft

Commercial airlines are always looking to find the fastest way for passengers that are flying aboard their planes to actually board. The faster, the more money airlines can make, saving up to $30 per flight for every minute that’s cut from the boarding process. There are plenty of ways passengers can load a plane on record. There’s the method that suggests people board by alternating rows, starting from the back of the aircraft which is actually said to be the fastest. There’s the more familiar way which is actually the slowest way, involving passengers to board in descending groups of rows. There’s the randomized way that commercial airlines like American Airlines is trying. This involves coach passengers boarding in the order they checked in no matter where their seat is.

Sky Limo Air Charter doesn’t worry about how passengers board our private jets. There’s usually no wait for any of our travelers, they’re all given the very best service in the air. A private jet means more legroom, more privacy, more flexibility with schedules and itineraries as well as access to exclusive jet concierge services. Flying with Sky Limo sure beats any other flying experience!

Advanced Imaging Technology at Airports

For those times you aren’t able to charter a private jet, Sky Limo Air Charter is helping you understand Advanced Imaging Technology with help from the TSA website. Since 2007, AIT is being used at airports. The technology, millimeter wave and backscatter, can detect plenty of threats to help protects passengers. AIT can screen passengers for metallic and on-metallic threats such as weapons, explosives and other objects that are concealed. The millimeter technology bounces electromagnetic waves off the body to create a black and white 3d image, while the backscatter technology projects low level x-ray beams over the body to create a reflection of the body that’s displayed on the monitor. You should know that the AIT is safe and meets the national health and safety standards. After numerous evaluations for the backscatter, the results confirmed that the radiation doses per screening were below the dose limits specified by the American National Standards Institute. The AIT is even safe for children, pregnant women and people with medical implants.
When you don’t feel like going through the dreaded hassles of the airport, call Sky Limo so you can fly on your very own private jet. By chartering your own flight with Sky Limo’s private aviation company, you’ll also have perks like jet concierge services.

Fear of Flying

According to an article on MSN, about 10% to 25% of the population is afraid to fly. Even through traveling by plane is very safe, even safe than driving, many feel flying is unnatural. Psychologists say that phobias develop in the late 20s and these fears of flying are stopping many people from taking part in plenty of milestones and social events such as weddings, reunions, vacations and more. If you're afraid to fly, there are ways to help you cope. For example, skipping the commercial airline route and flying on a private jet might help ease the anxiety. With a private aircraft all to yourself and a jet concierge staff helping you with all the trip-related reservations and organization, you might find the traveling experience less stressful. Also, skipping the waiting around at the airport, can make you more relax and not anticipating the flight. With a private jet flight, the "getting onboard" part is much quicker than with a traditional commercial airline. If flying solo isn't an option, virtual reality training can also help, with classes run by therapists and pilots to expose you to flying without ever leaving the ground. Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Air France offer classes. Breathing and muscle-relaxation techniques can also help and understanding the mechanics of flying can decrease the fear too. The magical aspect of flying dissipates once you understand how it works.

TSA Employee Arrested

According to CNN, a former Transportation Security Administration employee was charged with two counts of grand theft for allegedly stealing electronics from luggage. A Continental Airlines employee caught someone stealing an iPad from a suitcase in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. This according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office. This former TSA employee confessed to having stolen about $50,000 worth of computers, GPS devices and other electronics from bags he screened. He took pictures of these items so he can sell them online. He often sold the electronics before his shift ended. He has worked with the TSA since January 2009 but no longer works there. Detectives are trying to locate the victims of his crime, but it is said to be unlikely that they will get their personal belongings back.
If you don't want to deal with theft and other hassles that come with flying commercial and experiences at the airport, contact your private aviation company for your next trip on a private jet. You'll have access to the best staff in the skies, along with VIP concierge services, not to mention all the privacy in the world.

Busy Summer Traveling Season

According to CNN, the summer 2011 season is going to be very busy. Sure, it’s expected with kids out of school and families taking their vacations. According to The Air Transport Association of America, U.S. airlines are expected to carry over 206 million passengers between the months of June through August. That figure is a 1.5% increase compared to last year during that same time, which means 34,000 more flyers per day compared to 2010.
More passengers traveling by air translates to even more crowded airports. More lines to wait in, more screaming children and less privacy. That’s why flying on a private jet this summer might be a better idea than to deal with commercial airlines. You won’t be stuck with the regular routes and schedules that are offered through domestic flights neither the hassles of the airport and everything else traveling involves the days. A company like Sky Limo Air Charter can really make your traveling comfortable and luxurious. On a private aircraft you can expect luxury at every corner, with plenty of space, privacy and a jet concierge staff ready to help you with all of your reservations including hotel rooms and car rentals.

American Airlines and Expedia

Just recently American Airlines patched things ups with Expedia, allowing traveling customers to purchase American Airlines flights on the popular travel website. Fares and schedules are once again displayed and the distribution dispute both companies had back in December is fixed. At the time AA wanted their own connect link. As a result of this conflict, AA also severed its relationship with Orbitz, another travel website. According to cnn.com, Expedia’s stock went up nearly 4% on the news. Squali estimates that AA flight bookings will contribute to 5 to 70% to Expedia’s annual earnings per share. If you don’t want to be caught in the drama or deal with online flight bookings, why not choose to charter a flight on a private jet. You’ll get on-on-one personal service when you call Sky Limo Air Charter representatives, exclusive jet concierge services during and even after your flight, not to mention no hassles at the airport. New Possible Airline Fees for 2011

According to CNN.com, seems like airlines are going to squeeze more money from travelers in 2011. They might start charging new fees, everything from bags, to children. Ryanair already charges 20 euros each way for children travelling on an adults lap. Airlines might start doing the same. Many if not most travelers print their boarding passes at home and some also prepay for their bags. A traveler basically does everything himself/herself unless something goes wrong, then they need assistance and that's where the new fee would come in. Airlines might start charging a fee if there's the need to speak to an actual person as opposed to a computer. Shipping companies charge more if the item is heavier and going further. Airlines are thinking of charging a similar fee for baggage. Avoid new fees by booking a private jet. With Sky Limo Air Charter you won’t have to deal with any of the typical hassles of flying commercial. Simply a restful flight with great food and many perks. Flying on a private jet is the best experience in flying. You'll enjoy privacy and great jet concierge services. So for the very best in air travel, call us today and book your private air charter.

Dog Stops Planes

A Brazil airport had to shut down after a tiny dog escaped from its owner and ran for the runway according to AOL.com. The reason the controllers at Congonhas airport in Sao Paulo shut down operations is because they feared the small dog would get sucked into one of the airplane's engines. If you're wondering what type of dog caused all of this drama, it's a 12-inch-tall doggy. This small dog caused one hell of a search involving firefighters and airport staff. Four flights were delayed and one flight was diverted to Viracopos airport. Who knew that one small dog would cause such trouble for an airport. If you rather have no dogs in your way, then make sure to book a private jet. By flying with Sky Limo Air Charter you'll experience the best in private jet concierge services. No long lines at the airport and no flight delays, simply the very best in private flights. Sky Limo has a fleet of private aircrafts all different in sizes in case you need to travel in groups. Sky Limo Jet Makes Intracoastal Landing in Winterfest Boat Parade

Making aviation waves, Sky Limo Air Charter reports it will make its first Intracoastal “landing” this weekend in Florida’s 39th annual Winterfest Boat Parade expected to attract one million attendees. Earlier this week, the Florida-based full service aviation company made headline news as it spent hours traveling through Fort Lauderdale by police escort preparing to make its landing in this year’s Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

The 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft was sought after by Sky Limo’s Tom Conlan, when he thought of a Frank Sinatra inspired “Fly Me to the Moon” theme for this year’s parade.

“With a little help from our friends at World Jet, along with the jet and lunar backdrop, the completed float will have dancing flight attendants, black-tie businessmen and a Frank Sinatra impersonator with a deejay playing his music,” said Conlan, president and owner of Sky Limo Corporation.

“Taking part in this year’s Winterfest Boat Parade was an easy decision,” Conlan continued. “We wanted to do something that [to our knowledge] has never been done before, while at the same time encouraging a family atmosphere amongst our employees. This was a project everyone here could have some fun with, as well as be able to celebrate the holiday season while doing something special for the community.”

Being involved in charity, and the community in general, is important to Sky Limo, which is why the company decided to launch a cooperative effort with the United States Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” campaign. For its Winterfest entry this year, Sky Limo is mounting the aircraft a few feet up in the air, leaving an open area to be filled with donated toys directly beneath the aircraft. The goal is to launch a “Toys for Tots” collection site at the launch location for Saturday’s Winterfest Parade.

“Sky Limo is a company that is always looking to further immerse itself in the community where its employees work and live,” said Conlan. “And we strongly feel that this is a unique opportunity to do exactly that.”

Spectators can view the Winterfest Boat Parade along Fort Lauderdale’s Riverwalk starting at 6 p.m. on December 11, 2010.

Florida’s Sky Limo and Toys for Tots Holiday Campaign Gives Back

The first aircraft joins the Winterfest Boat Parade with a purpose. Being involved in the community is important to Sky Limo, and that is why it is launching a cooperative effort with the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign.

Sky Limo Air Charter is ready to make its mark during this year's Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade by mounting a 48-foot long, 8-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 airjet on a barge. There will be a little extra room on the float - just enough space to fill with donated toys. Sky Limo's ultimate goal is to help "Toys for Tots" by setting up a collection site at the launch location for Saturday's event.

Please join Sky Limo and The United States Marine Corps this Saturday to help make this Holiday Season the best one yet for our community's children!

Planes, Cranes and Sky Limo in the News with Winterfest Boat Parade

Sky Limo will be the first aircraft ever to participate in the Winterfest Boat Parade on Saturday. A 48-foot long, ten-passenger, twin-engine Sabre 60 jet aircraft, with a 44-foot wingspan was lifted by crane, transported through the streets of Fort Lauderdale, and placed onto a barge where it will be dropped into the Intracoastal for Saturday's festivities.

The unorthodox float drew plenty of South Florida media coverage: reporters from the Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, WFOR CBS 4, WPLG Local 10, and WSVN 7News have been closely watching the events leading up to the parade's 6:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff, dubbed "the greatest show on H2O."

The jet will be themed "Fly Me to the Moon" and will also serve as a collection site for the United States Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign.

"We think that would be an exciting part of the program (to) have everybody come down and bring a toy," says Sky Limo owner Tom Conlan. "We are going to try and fill the whole front of the barge with toys."

Has TSA Gone Too Far?

Following the 9/11 terror attacks we all want to make sure that the airports are taking the necessary precautions to make us all feel safer. Now the TSA introduced body scanners which will x-ray your entire body, exposing everything. We are not even sure what the repercussions of going through these scanners are going to be over time. When you fly on a private jet with Sky Limo Air Charter, you won’t be exposed to any of those x-ray scanners. You will have the luxury of being treated like a king and while in the air our world-class jet concierge services will make sure that you have the best flight possible. Not only will you get VIP treatment, you’ll also get help with hotel reservations and car rentals. Now we are not saying that the TSA is wrong for doing what they are doing, but has all of this gone a little too far? Not only do we have to wait long lines and take off our shoes and have our personal things inspected but now we have to be subjected to either groping or going through scanners. Avoid the long lines, screenings, x-rays, the groping and hidden fees, call one of our Sky Limo private aviation representatives today and book a great trip, you won't regret it!
