Most Photographed Places

Scientists at Cornell University analyzed 35 million pictures on Flickr online and put together a list of the most photographed cities and their landmarks as well as the most common angles that they’re shot in. For example the 25th most photographed city is Portland, Oregon and its most shot landmark is the Pioneer Courthouse Square, a 27 year-old public space that’s used for hosting concerts and festivals. Its most standard shot is the square overlooking the Portland Clock Tower. Number 23 on that list is the Capitol Building in Austin, a 1888 Renaissance Revival-style 22 acres big building. Number 22 is the Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Las Vegas’ Paris Hotel is number 15 on the top 25 most photographed places list. Number 13 is Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Madrid, Spain, Venice and Milan, Italy, Berlin, Germany also all shows up on the list.
