Private Jets: Efficient and Convenient

According to an article on Wired.com, corporate jets aren’t used to fly ‘fat cats who think flying coach is beneath them.’ The article mentions a study that shows that the use of business jets and other small aircrafts is more about efficiency and improving the bottom line than it is about the luxurious perks. The article goes on to say that a specific study found that 22% of passengers on business aircrafts were top-level executives while 70% included mid-level managers, sales, technical and service staff. Another finding was that 85 employees per company flew on a business aircraft during a six-month period before the survey. Plus, half of the flights made by business aircrafts in the same survey were to airports with little or no scheduled airline service at all. The article states that there are over public 5,000 airports in the U.S., but only 600 with schedules service, and most of the airlines fly in and out of only 70 major hub airports.
